Nighthawk is a Marvel Comics character first appearing in *The Avengers* #69 (October 1969). There have been a few versions of the character.
The original and most well-known Nighthawk is Kyle Richmond, an extremely wealthy man who gains superpowers through alchemical means. He is initially a member of the Squadron Sinister, a team of villains created by the Grandmaster to challenge the Avengers. Nighthawk's powers typically include enhanced strength, speed, agility, and flight, and he usually operates at night.
Later on he reforms, joining the Defenders and often operating as a hero, albeit a flawed and brooding one. The character's backstory often involves exploring themes of corruption and redemption as he struggles to use his wealth and abilities for good, fighting against the systems he once benefitted from.
